Prelude

Quantum information science (QIS) is a fascinating research area that has attracted the attention of researchers of diverse discipline, from physics, computer science, information theory, just to name a few. Today, this multidisciplinary research area not only pushes us towards a better understanding of the intriguing microscopic world and the fundamental limits of information processing but also serves as one of the main driving forces behind a number of maturing quantum technologies, such as quantum random number generators, quantum key distributions, quantum computer, etc.

The three-day Forum aims to bring together young researchers working in QIS worldwide so that they can
- learn from some of the world-leading experts;
- get updated about some of the latest research developments in these areas;
- make new connections at the early stage of their research career.

To this end, the Forum will feature a few invited lectures delivered by renowned researchers and provide an opportunity for junior researchers (students and postdocs) to deliver a contributed talk or a poster presentation (acceptance will be notified by 24th July 2020). A small number of contributed talks are reserved, if necessary, for those who may not be able to travel to Taiwan and can only deliver their talk online. Participation in the Forum does not require the payment of any registration fee but since the venue can only fit up to 70 people, priority will be given to graduate students and (junior) postdocs working in this area.
