Use the
NTU map , and the picture of the department building
may be helpful for you to identify the building, which has 14 floors, and is so
far the tallest building on campus. It was built in 2000 and is the home of the
Physics Department, the Center for Condensed Matter Sciences and the Institute
of Astronomy and Astrophysics of Academia Sinica. Show the Chinese characters on
the top of this page to your taxi driver, which says "National Taiwan University
Physics Department".
From the gate on Hsin-Hai Road (shorter):.
The big building at the intersection of Hsin-Sheng S. Rd. and Hsin-Hai Rd. with
a round dome is the gymnasium. The Physics Department is the next building on
Hsin-Hai Rd.
From the main gate at the intersection of Roosevelt Rd. and
Hsin-Sheng S. Rd (longer):
After entering the main gate, make a left turn to the second street on your
left. Go down the street and you should see basketball courts, field and tracks
on your left and some tennis courts on your right. Stop at the end of the road.
The big building with a round dome is the gym. The physics department is the big
building next to it on your right.
The following is the name and address of the department in
Chinese. The first line says "Department of Physics, National Taiwan
University", and the second line says "No.1, Sec.4, Roosevelt Road, Taipei."
