TITLEApplications of Photonic Entanglement in Quantum Information and Quantum Communication - from micro scale to macro scale

ABSTRACTPolarization entangled Photons have many fascinating applications in quantum Information Science. Photons are easy to experimentally manipulate and only weakly interact with their nvironment. Therefore they are feasible candidates to implement many quantum communication and quantum computation protocols. The possible applications range from miniaturized optical circuits on waveguide chips to large scale implementations of quantum communication protocols. All these applications will be at the heart of future techniques in Quantum Information Processing.
