TITLEVery High Energy (VHE) gamma ray astroparticle physics with the MAGIC telescope

ABSTRACTVery High Energy (VHE) cosmic gamma rays ( > 30 GeV) carry crucial information about the extreme physics conditions in the Universe. In recent 20 years, due to the unprecedented developments of the IACTs (Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes), this last window of the Universe in electromagnetic waves has been opened and explored.MAGIC-I (Major Atmospheric Gamma-ray Imaging Cherenkov Telescope), a 17m diameter Cherenkov telescope at Canary island La Palma, is the largest single dish IACT in the world. Profiting from the low energy threshold, MAGIC has made several important discoveries since operation, including pulsed VHE gamma-rays from the Crab pulsars and VHE gamma-ray emissions from far distant AGN (Active Galactic Nuclei)3C279. In this talk, I will present several important recent results from MAGIC, especially focus on extra-galactic sources. In addition, multi-messenger activities, such as MAGIC co-observation with neutrino telescopes, like ICECUBE and other X-ray,Gamma-ray satellites will be also introduced. At last, I will give a brief description about the status of the MAGIC-II project, the second MAGIC telescope at La Palma site.
