TITLELHC physics: di-muons near the Upsilon resonance in the ATLAS experiment

ABSTRACTThis is the most exciting moment in particle physics. After two years of data collection, experiments at Large Hadron Collider (LHC), ATLAS and CMS, discovered the last piece of puzzle in the Standard Model of particle physics - the Higgs boson. This new finding leads us to more unclear issues, for example, is the new discovered 125 GeV particle the Standard Model Higgs boson? Is there any new physics beyond the Standard Model? This seminar will summarize the current status and future plan for LHC and ATLAS, particularly in the optical communication transceiver boards for the Pixel detector in the phase-0 upgrade. Additionally, this talk will focus on the measurements of the production cross-section of Upsilon mesons with di-muon final state in pp collision. Finally, a search for a very light CP-odd Higgs boson decaying to di-muon pairs will also be highlighted.
